PENERAPAN ABSENSI ONLINE DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEDISIPLINAN PEGAWAI PADA KANTOR KECAMATAN SIMPANG KIRI KOTA SUBULUSSALAM

Abstract

This study focuses on the implementation of an online attendance system at the Simpang Kiri Subdistrict Office in Subulussalam City. The urgency of implementing this system arises from the need to improve employee discipline, which has been considered lacking, and to overcome the inefficiencies and potential for manipulation found in manual attendance methods. This research aims to explore: (1) how the online attendance system is implemented to enhance employee discipline, and (2) the impact of its implementation on employees at the Simpang Kiri Subdistrict Office. A qualitative research method was used, with data collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the online attendance system improves the accuracy and transparency of attendance data, reduces the likelihood of manipulation, and encourages greater employee discipline. The attendance records serve as a fair basis for decision-making regarding rewards and sanctions and enhance time management. Despite technical challenges such as network issues, adequate support and backup solutions have ensured smooth system operation. The system has had a positive impact on improving work discipline, the efficiency of attendance management, and overall transparency. Employees have responded positively to the system, and technical issues have been swiftly addressed. Future plans include integrating the attendance system with performance evaluations and payroll processes to further promote a disciplined, modern, and transparent work culture. The significance of the online attendance system lies in its role as an effective control tool for fostering employee discipline and supporting a more accurate and modern administrative system
